6lb Density Impression pad suitable for all horses over approx 500kgs
2" width (Black) - good for the pony/smaller hoof with approx inch coverage of sole and wall
3" width (Green) - good for the medium sized hoof and for a weak hoof capsule requiring greater coverage
4" width (Purple) - good for the larger sized hoof, and for a weak hoof capsule requiring greater coverage, inserting pads, keeping a loose shoe in place or as a temporary replacement if a shoes has been lost
When you see a poor hoof capsule it's worth remembering that it is the product of weak internal structures - NOT the other way round - when you have a healthy internal Foot ,you will have a healthy Hoof !
The PFW is 100% poly (no fibreglass) and works because it immediately enables internal structures to recover from bruising and inflammation by providing dynamic stability that a weakened hoof capsule cannot achieve, while allowing for 3 dimensional distortion vital to return health to internal structures that have proven too weak to withstand the forces of impact and even the static weight of the horse.
It's not unusual once the PFW is applied for rapid comfort to return and secondary issues that have arisen as a result of poor hoof health, such as ligament, tendon strain and back pain to improve and even resolve.
I have trialled PFW for over a year successfully treating many pathologies such as navicular disease and caudal hoof pain, ringbone, sidebone, chronic founder, golden (white) line and wall infections restoring rapid health and growth to generally weakened hoof structures unable to retain a shoe, into horses successfully performing at a wide range of disciplines shoeless.
POLY FLEX WRAPS ARE LIGHT, STRONG AND ALLOW FOR FLEXION

To achieve the best results ensure the hooves have received a balanced trim Before applying PFW ensure hooves are thoroughly cleaned and any fungal infections treated with a proven non-necrotising anti-bacterial such as Spectrasan supplied with Kits and/or Clean Trax Don't forget the PFW is breathable so you can Clean Trax after applying the PFW ! Access to a dry environment is made available to ensure hooves dry thoroughly each day. Vettec Thrush Pak and /or Sole Guard can also be applied and a wider wrap for a fuller sole coverage for the very weak hoof.
No, as the Poly-Flex Wrap name indicates it is flexible allowing for controlled 3 dimensional distortion, stability and stimulus. It does not contain fibre glass and is not rigid. The weave promotes breathability and allowing for flexibility.
IS IT EASY TO PUT ON?
Yes, it's a clean, straight forward application and very similar to wrapping Vet Wrap around a hoof, only difference being that the Poly Flex Wrap relies on water to set!
WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT WIDTHS?
Wider widths provide options for the larger horse and for horses and ponies who may need support during their recovery. 3" and 4" wraps work well for draughts and heavy cobs
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE POLY FLEX WRAPS GET WET?
Once the Poly-Flex Wrap is set, it is not affected by water
HOW LONG SHOULD THE POLY FLEX WRAP STAY ON?
The PFW provides constant dynamic and static stability promoting rapid growth. It should not be left on for more than 4 weeks. It is not unusual to see wear at the toe and/or heels. The PFW will still maintain its stability and stimulus. Wear is also a useful indicator on how the horse is moving through it's stride phases.
WILL THE POLY-FLEX WRAP HOLD UP TO HARD SURFACES SUCH AS TARMAC AND CONCRETE?
No, the Poly-Flex Wrap is not designed to hold up to hard and/or abrasive surfaces and cannot provide the traction of a healthy hoof.
CAN I WORK MY HORSE IF IT'S WEARING POLY FLEX WRAPS?
Yes, the Poly-Flex Wrap is ideal for horses that are experiencing weak and vulnerable hoof structures and is therefore suitable for light groundwork and riding on a soft surface only.
IS IT NECESSARY TO USE AN IMPRESSION PAD?
Yes, it is essential if you wish to ensure the best results as the impression pad moulds the wrap to the contours of the hoof ensuring it's full functional use, breathability and durability.
SUMMARY
The Poly-Flex Wrap is a very useful tool and will fulfill it's full potential if the above advice and directions are followed.
